You reach Housefly from Garden Spider once that spider hits adult level 12 and you are holding 200 coins. The same insect is also listed at 19 Robux if you would rather skip the pile. I would spend coins first. Nineteen Robux does not teach you the meadow, and the coin price is the one both public write-ups repeat.

Body and buttons

The catalog line is 105 health, 11 bite damage, move speed 20, bite speed 1.2, and 130 stamina. Adult level after the change is 15, which means the next gate is close. The passive is +8% XP from everything, not only orbs. That is the reason I keep recommending Housefly to players who are still dying: the insect pays you for staying alive and eating, even when the bite number looks ordinary.

Buzz Off is the ability. For 4 seconds you move 55% faster and sprinting is free. The cooldown is 14 seconds. Frenzy unlocks at level 100 and, shared with several early insects, adds 45% bite speed and 15% move speed for 7 seconds. I read Buzz Off as an exit button and Frenzy as the button you press when a beetle is already in front of you. Flight is the third tool: you can cross the grass without taking the ground predator’s path. None of the pages give a meters-per-second flight figure, so I am not going to invent a height limit.

Why this one, not the jumper

Grasshopper costs the same 200 coins at the same level and brings 120 health, speed 22, and jumps that cost half stamina. Housefly gives up 15 health and 2 speed for flight, a faster bite (1.2 against 1.05), and the XP passive. If your problem is being eaten on the ground, flight is the fix. If your problem is that fights take too long, Grasshopper’s shorter cooldown leap (5 seconds, next bite 1.4×) is the more aggressive toy. I do not think one of them is secretly stronger. They are two answers to the first death.

The next named step off Housefly is Black Widow at level 15 and 450 coins, with a 29 Robux alternative. A wiki also mentions a Tracking task on that path. Grasshopper’s next tree name in the catalog is Jumping Spider, same 450-coin, level-15 band. Choosing Housefly is also choosing a branch that includes Black Widow and Locust in the catalog. Read Black Widow before you assume you can cross over later. No page describes a respec.

How I would spend the first hour on this path

• Stay in Sunny Meadow until the 200 coins exist. Ants, crickets, silk cocoons, and the early story quests are enough.
• Put early level picks into speed so Buzz Off is a backup, not the only escape.
• Evolve at 12, then use the 8% XP to reach 15 without a detour into Whispering Woods.
• Save the next 450 instead of buying a cosmetic. The shop pages do not describe a refund.

Community boards place Housefly in a low letter because 105 health is small next to a 560-health Brood Mother. That letter describes the endgame, not the purchase you make at level 12. On the tier list I kept Housefly in C for that reason, and I still tell new players to buy it when they want the calmer route.
